WAT: Wax Appearance Temperature

Flow Assurance and Inhibitor Testing

The wax appearance temperature (WAT) is a crucial parameter regarding flow assurance.
The WAT tester by F5 Technologie is available as an extension to our Multi-Place Cold Finger or as a complete stand-alone device.

Wax Flow Loop

To prevent deposition of complex and heavy organic compounds in reservoirs, well heads and pipelines, it is necessary to be able to predict the onset and amount of deposition due to various factors, e.g. flow (shear) rate, temperature and pressure.

MicroPVT

The MicroPVT has been developed to determine the physical, rheological and thermodynamic properties of fluids by measuring the change in volume of a sample under applied pressure.

These measurements can be performed at a range of temperatures to provide the volume to pressure relationship as a function of temperature.

PPT: Pour Point Test

Flow Assurance and Inhibitor Testing

The Pour Point is a crucial parameter regarding flow assurance. The Pour Point tester by F5 Technologie operates according to an old, but still very widespread standard: the ASTM D97. Our PPT is available as an extension to our Multi-Place Cold Finger or as a complete stand-alone device.

Multi-Place Cold Finger - The Original

Flow Assurance, Paraffin Deposition and Inhibitor Testing

In analysing waxy crude oil and also in testing, developing and selecting wax inhibiting chemicals, it is of importance to perform tests in a fast and efficient way and under reproducible conditions.

The Cold Finger devices by F5 Technologie combine accuracy, ergonomics and flexibility to a maximum benefit to researchers and producers in the field of paraffin deposition inhibition. Determination and comparison of paraffin deposition effects becomes reliable and reproducible.

Pipeline Restart Loop: Yield Strength

Deposition of complex and heavy organic compounds in crude and heavy oil can cause a number of severe problems up to pipeline blocking. This instrument provides the ability to develop and test inhibiting chemicals under reproducible conditions.

Dynamic Scale Loop (Differential Scale Loop)

Production engineers are responsible for the design, operation and efficiency of water handling systems in which thermal, pressure or chemical changes lead to scale deposition.

Our dynamic scale loops provide an accurate, reproducible and fast methods for selecting and quantifying the most effective means of controlling scale deposition under dynamic pipeline conditions.

Turbidimeter - Flocculation Tester - ASTM D 6703

Detecting particles, opacity and tarnish in fluids is a common task in a wide variety of industries and fields of research.

Developed for customers in the oil industry, the Flocculation Tester made by F5 Technologie is able to detect particles (e.g. flocculation point of asphaltenes) in any petroleum product, even very dark fluids as undiluted crude oils.
A version with an ASTM D 6703 compatible optical cell for Heithaus Titrimetry is available.

Water Quality Tester

Solids in Water Determination according to NACE TM-01-73 and API PR 45

Corrosion engineers in the oil and gas producing industry are often charged with the responsibility of evaluating and controlling the quality of injection waters. Furthermore, production engineers are confronted with formation clogging by solids in produced water.

This instrument is suitable to determine the water quality of produced and subsurface injection water by use of membrane filters according to NACE TM-01-73 and API PR 45. According to this method, the sample is pressed through the filter at constant pressure until a certain volume has passed the filter (procedure A) or for a set time (procedure B).
